There's a reason we've been coming here for 20 years
Sitting in the sparkling turquoise Aegean Sea, Lesvos is a warm and sunny emerald gem of Greece. It is a whole continent in miniature: spectacular beaches, high mountains and wild forests on Greece's third largest island.
Due to the island's size and variety, there's something for everyone: beach holidays, activity holidays, gastronomic tours, nature attractions and spectacular geography.
Here at Real Lesvos we aim to gradually make the wonder and attractions of Lesvos more easily available to the UK traveller. In the map below you'll find an ever-increasing list of our favourite things to do and see on Lesvos!
Life in relaxing Anaxos revolves around its famous beach making it a perfect holiday choice for sun-worshipers and swimmers. In the summer the village is adorned with rose-lined lanes and in the Autumn it boasts ripening pomegranate bushes making it a delight for visitors in any season.
Anaxos village is a haven for fantastic holiday accommodation and beach-side tavernas. It is also a great base to explore the island of Lesvos: it is 5 minutes from the town of Petra and has an impressive view of Molyvos. If you’re looking for a peaceful holiday destination, Anaxos is the place for you.
For a morning coffee or an evening drink, Anaxos makes a good place to start or end a trip into the hills. Meander through olive groves and forests of pines, oak trees, cypress trees and many fruit-bearing trees. We definitely recommend a trip to the Skoutaros hilltop for its stunning panoramic views of the Turkish coast or join the locals for an unforgettable beach day at the secluded Ampelia Beach with its fresh fish taverna. If you’re in need of more adventure, explore the many nearby coves to find undiscovered crystal waters!
