There's a reason we've been coming here for 20 years
Sitting in the sparkling turquoise Aegean Sea, Lesvos is a warm and sunny emerald gem of Greece. It is a whole continent in miniature: spectacular beaches, high mountains and wild forests on Greece's third largest island.
Due to the island's size and variety, there's something for everyone: beach holidays, activity holidays, gastronomic tours, nature attractions and spectacular geography.
Here at Real Lesvos we aim to gradually make the wonder and attractions of Lesvos more easily available to the UK traveller. In the map below you'll find an ever-increasing list of our favourite things to do and see on Lesvos!
Snorkelers paradise! Tsonia sets itself apart from most beaches on the island because of how few rocks there are around. But don’t be afraid to put on your flippers and swim further out and explore the sea-life that appears the further you venture. It is a sandy beach right up to the water line, gently descending and turning into pebbles. This beach is a great choice for families with babies because there aren’t strong winds and the water is relatively warm too. Tavernas lining the beach-front all the way from the functioning harbour on one end offer the perfect meal after a day in the sun.
Small fish float in the clear water of Tsonia which is filled with all kinds of marine life including flatfish, cuttlefish and sometimes even octopi, making it a perfect destination for snorkelers! Watch out for underwater seaweed hedges as sea-urchins have made them their home.
