There's a reason we've been coming here for 20 years
Sitting in the sparkling turquoise Aegean Sea, Lesvos is a warm and sunny emerald gem of Greece. It is a whole continent in miniature: spectacular beaches, high mountains and wild forests on Greece's third largest island.
Due to the island's size and variety, there's something for everyone: beach holidays, activity holidays, gastronomic tours, nature attractions and spectacular geography.
Here at Real Lesvos we aim to gradually make the wonder and attractions of Lesvos more easily available to the UK traveller. In the map below you'll find an ever-increasing list of our favourite things to do and see on Lesvos!
Drive a few minutes south from Kalloni or walk for forty and you’ll find the perfect place to unwind as the sun goes down. The scent of Lesvos’s famous sardines grilling over smoky coals signals a late lunch in sunny Skala Kalloni. This hidden beachfront playground boasts a busy port for small in-shore boats where fishermen sit mending their nets. Watch the leaping fish just steps from the seafront and join families from around the island as they meet up for a lazy Sunday meze while the sun sets over the calm waters of Kalloni bay. We recommend a beach-front spot at Dionysus’ restaurant which serves up a variety of dishes to suit all moods.
At Skala Kalloni there are gently sloping beaches and a range of holiday accommodation that makes it a great base for the exploration of Lesvos because of its exciting history and impressive wildlife. Skala Kalloni is also home to a centre of environmental research!
Come at any time of the year and be warmly welcomed into cafes and tavernas clustered around Skala Kalloni’s little square!
